Many civilians have contributed to war efforts and continue today.  We have and will continue to be involved in supporting our troops with letter campaigns, food, and necessity items being mailed to our troops.  We have displays of silk pillow covers from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam that were sent home to the troops' families.  We have archives and artifacts honoring the civilians who built aircraft and ships.  Rosie the Riveter was an important patriotic campaign of its era.  There is a 180 square foot exhibit of St. Joseph's rail center during WWII in HO scale, comfortably presented at eye level.

Like the rest of America, St. Joseph was shocked by the September 11, 2001 attack of the World Trade Center Twin Towers.  Many volunteer rescue workers went to New York to help with the rescue and clean up efforts.  They returned with pictures and a piece of steel from the towers. These are on display and this display is scheduled for upgrading in the near future.
